2025 was a great year! New releases, long-overdue backlist discoveries, and a few books that really touched me emotionally.
Here’s what’s currently sitting on my TBR for 2026. Some are continuations, some are finally-I’ll-get-to-it promises, I’m hoping some will emotionally destroy me! We’ll see.
🔥 Continuing Series I’m Locked Into
- Jade War & Jade Legacy — Fonda Lee
Jade City already has me sold and I have to see how it continues. I feel very attached to Hilo and I hope nothing bad happens… - Victorious — V.E. Schwab
The finale to her Heroes and Villains trilogy. This series is just okay to me but I’m hoping the wrap up will be satisfying. - Demon in White — Christopher Ruocchio
The Sun Eater series has been a little hard for me to lock into. I loved Empire of Silence but Howling Dark dragged for me a bit. I keep seeing crazy reviews about the later books in the series though and fear I will be missing out if I don’t keep going. So, I will take a deep breath and attempt to plunge back in. Will update here later! - Red God — Pierce Brown (potential new release)
If this drops in 2026, I’ll be cancelling plans but also fighting to make it last and not finish it in 1 day.
⚔️ Epic Fantasy Commitments
- The Kingkiller Chronicle — Patrick Rothfuss
This was recommended to me by a fellow Red Rising fan and I haven’t gotten to it yet- but I will trust his judgement in 2026. - The Stormlight Archive — Brandon Sanderson
I’m doing it. I’m in the middle of Mistborn right now and it’s kind of a slow burn for me.
🩸 Chaos Picks
- The Bloodsworn Saga — John Gwynne
Don’t really know entirely what this is about but there’s a dragon on the cover so I’m sold. - Dungeon Crawler Carl — Matt Dinniman
I was unsure about diving into this one because I can’t really tell what the vibe is. But it seems unique so I’m going to go for it.
That’s the current plan. But let’s be honest, my TBR is more of a suggestion than a rule. Feel free to warn me if any of these will ruin my life!
Happy reading đź“–đź’«
